In 2004, Daniel Hedaya was on the verge of becoming a chef when he switched gears and dove headfirst into real estate. Although the ex-culinary student still enjoys rustling up flavorful concoctions, he couldn’t be happier with his fast-paced and competitive work environment, which allows him to interact with a fascinating, international clientele.

A licensed real estate salesperson, Hedaya got his start with a boutique brokerage firm, showing both renters and buyers a variety of mainly downtown inventory. When siblings Khashy and Dezireh Eyn were establishing Platinum Properties in 2005, however, Hedaya grabbed the opportunity. At first, he managed three agents, then 10, and he now oversees nearly 85 brokers, each an expert in Manhattan’s many offerings.

Having diligently worked his way up from broker to senior manager to executive vice president to his current position of president in under six years, Hedaya’s background includes substantial experience in everything from sales training to market analysis.
