Originally opening its doors to the public in Milan in 1936, Sant Ambroeus brought its world-class Italian dining experience to New York to continue the connection between friends, families, and food in 1982. Becoming a local favorite, Sant Ambroeus pulls locals in with their creamy espressos and has people do a double take on their menu for the  Scaloppine e Spinaci and Linguine Alle Vongole. One of the oldest dining experiences in Battery Park, Sant Ambroeus is a must on the New York restaurant scene. 

L’Appart

Skyscraper Museum

Aquatic Carousel

A fish-themed carousel located in The Battery that commemorates the difficult time brought on by Hurricane Sandy has now become a musical tourist attraction for kids and their families to enjoy. 

The Battery Bikeway

The Battery Bikeway connects the Hudson River Park to the East River Esplanade. In total, it is a 31-mile waterfront bicycle path that visitors can bike uninterrupted while exploring Manhattan. Bike riders can see many greenery and stop for cafes set along the river. For anyone who doesn’t have a bike, the Citi Bikes are available to grab all along the riverfront.

Battery Playscape

Perfect for families with kids, the Battery Playscape was built after Hurricane Sandy to bring environmental and cultural awareness through its contemporary and sustainable design. The area is separated into five ecology zones to inform the community about flood zone landscapes: Bluff, Riverbed, Marsh, Dune, and Meadow, which hosts ShowBox, an improv/puppet theater. It has become a great educational spot for families to take their kids.

The Bosque Fountain 

During the summers the Bosque Fountain is used to cool off from the heat. It has 35 jets that spray water into the air while people run through and leap over or towards the water. At night it is a beautiful and calming sight to watch as the LED lights light up the water as it springs 15 feet into the air while different colors shimmer through the water. A wonderful place to experience Battery Park City on any occasion. 

Transportation 

The Ferry

The NYC Ferry and New York Water Way are by far the most efficient and fun ways to make your way around the city. It creates opportunities to view the historical Statue of Liberty and observe the famous New York City skyline. Both ferries stop at Pier 11.

The MTA

Battery Park City is accessible by M9, M20, and M22 bus services. Additionally, the R, 4, and 5 trains can be taken to reach your destination within Battery Park City. The R leads you closer to the waterfront at Whitehall Street while the 4 and 5 will drop you off closer to the restaurants, cafes, and accommodations. 

Walking

If you are feeling ambitious, walking the Battery Parkway for a slower look at the city is possible. Along the river you can appreciate the grandiose architecture and views surrounding the water.
