One of the great things about living in FiDi and other nearby neighborhoods is the close proximity of so many wonderful events. When you choose to call Lower Manhattan home, you have access to the best restaurants, cultural institutions and so much more – often right outside your door. This Easter, why not stay local and take advantage of all this area has to offer? Here’s a look at some of the special events and activities scheduled for Easter weekend.

Easter Services

Is there a better place to attend Easter services than at Trinity Church and St. Paul’s Chapel? We think not. Located in the heart of the Financial District, this historic church hosts a wonderful day of Easter events. If you’re planning to attend with kids, then the Easter Festive Eucharist for Families with Children is your best bet. Happening from 9:15 – 11:00 a.m. on Easter Sunday, this simple yet festive celebration will include hymns and music from the Trinity Youth Chorus. Afterwards, the kids can hunt for eggs while the grown-ups enjoy music and refreshments.

Easter Brunch

There are so many great places in Lower Manhattan offering up special menus on Easter, the hard part will be choosing which one to try. Del Frisco’s Grille at Brookfield Place will be offering a special for bone-in prime rib all day on both March 30 and April 1. 2West Restaurant in the famous Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Battery Park will host a lavish Easter Brunch Buffet you don’t want to miss. And if you want an outside-the-box culinary adventure on Easter Sunday, try Khe-Yo in Tribeca.

Easter Cruise

Want to try something a little different this Easter? Then hop aboard Hornblower Cruises and Events for their Easter Jazzy Brunch Cruise. Departing from Pier 40 in Hudson River Park, this two-hour cruise offers more than just spectacular views and a delicious brunch buffet. You’ll also get a special visit from the Easter Bunny! Kids will enjoy the on board Easter egg hunt, while the adults indulge in the free-flowing mimosas. There will be a live jazz band on board, adding to the festive atmosphere. Boarding begins at 12:00 p.m. with cruising from 12:30 – 2:30 p.m. Tickets are $85 for adults and $51 for kids ages 4-12. Kids age 3 and under get in free. There are also discounts available for seniors and members of the military.

Easter Egg Hunts

In addition to the Easter egg hunts mentioned above, several other places in the area will be hosting them as well. The New York City Fire Museum schedules a popular event that sells out quickly every year – check their website for more information. The Lower Manhattan Church also sponsors a great Easter egg hunting event for families that features a guest appearance by the Easter Bunny as well as crafts and other activities for kids.
