New York International Children’s Film Festival

(Until March 18) The largest festival of films for kids happens right here in the Big Apple. The New York International Children’s Film Festival features approximately 100 films for children and teens showcased over four weeks. Venues are located around the city, and winners of juried prizes become eligible for Academy Awards. If you’re looking for quality films to see with your kids, you’ll find them here.

Imp, Crusader, Dude, Priest: The Life of Pauli Murray

(Until March 21) Trinity Church Wall Street presents an interactive display in St. Paul’s Chapel about Pauli Murray, the first African-American woman to become an ordained Episcopalian priest. Murray was a human rights activist, lawyer, historian, teacher, poet, and advisor to both President Roosevelt and President Kennedy. Come be inspired by one woman’s life journey of purpose and transformation.

NYC Whiskey Walk

(March 3) Are you ready to pre-game your St. Patrick’s Day? Then the NYC Whiskey Walk is for you. This popular pub-crawl takes you on a tour of eight different venues where you will sample eight of the best whiskeys from Ireland. $65 buys you all your tastings, small food plates, and a day full of fun. What more could you ask for?

Own The Room CORE: Base – New York City

(March 8) Do you want to improve your presentation skills? Check out Own the Room CORE: Base and learn how to command a room and become a more confident speaker. It’s a highly interactive and non-traditional workshop held at Convene in FiDi that will take your leadership game to the next level.

Danu & Goitse at Pace University

(March 11) Get in the mood for St Patrick’s Day with this wonderful concert at Schimmel Center at Pace Unviersity. Two of Ireland’s top ensembles, Danu and Goitse, will take the stage and serenade the audience with traditional Irish music. Tickets start at $29.

Local Food, Cider & Spirits Tasting Showcase

(March 15) The Local Food, Cider and Spirits Tasting Showcase is another great event happening at Fulton Stall Market in the South Street Seaport. Local farmers and producers will be offering tasty sips and bites and presenting information about visiting their operations upstate. Best of all, 70 percent of the ticket price is a donation to the Fulton Market Association, so it’s tax deductible.

Annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade

(March 17) You can’t celebrate St. Patrick’s Day in the city without taking in the parade. Grab yourself a spot along the parade route on 5th Avenue between 44th and 79th, or catch it live on NBCNewYork.com starting at 11 a.m.

Affordable Art Fair

(March 21-25) The Affordable Art Fair once again returns to New York. Browse an array of interesting exhibitions featuring original contemporary art from more than 300 artists at the Metropolitan Pavilion. Art is priced from $100 to $10,000 so you’re sure to find something to fit your budget.

Walking Tour: Women of Wall Street

(March 22) The Museum of American Finance is hosting the Walking Tour: Women of Wall Street to showcase the female power brokers of this storied street. The 90 minute guided walking tour highlights women who helped to shape the financial world. The $15 admission price also includes a ticket to Lunch and Learn with George Robb following the tour.

Macy’s Flower Show

(March 25 – April 8) Are you ready for spring? You certainly will be after taking in the Macy’s Flower Show! For two weeks you can luxuriate in the splendor of fantasy floral scenes featuring plants from all over the globe. This is a spectacular event you should not miss.
