If you’re so over the winter, then you’re going to be excited for all the events happening in NYC in March. Throughout the month you can thaw out with hot Flamenco dancing or warm your belly with handcrafted spirits and top-shelf wines. By the end of the month, spring is in full gear with one of the most spectacular flower shows of the year. There’s so much to look forward to!

New York International Children’s Film Festival

(Thru March 17) Kick-off the month with a visit to the New York International Children’s Film Festival. For more than 20 years the festival has presented the best new films from around the world to over 25,000 young people and their parents. More than three dozen films from the festival have received Oscar nominations over the years. This year’s event includes 125 new films along with parties and red-carpet events.

Flamenco Festival

(March 7-10) The 2019 Flamenco Festival is in partnership with New York City Center and brings to the stage the amazing talents of superstar Sara Baras. Her show, Shadows, is being touted as an evening with the “Queen of the Spanish Moonwalk.” Ticket prices start at $35.

The Armory Show

(March 7-10) Check out NYC’s premier fair for 20th and 21st-century art, The Armory Show, happening on Piers 92 & 94. The show features presentations by international galleries, public programs, and innovative artists. 2019 marks the 25th anniversary of this wildly popular event.

NYC Winter Wine Festival

(March 9) Get through the last weeks of winter by enjoying a glass or two of wine at the NYC Winter Wine Festival. Happening at the PlayStation Theater in Times Square, this event features hundreds of wines, light hors-d’oeuvres, and live jazz. General admission tickets allow you to sample a variety of wines from around the world as well as New York State and take home a custom etched tasting glass.

Asia Week New York

(March 13-23) Asia Week New York is a ten-day celebration of Asian art. Over the course of the festival, visitors can enjoy exhibitions, auctions, and special events happening throughout New York. 2019 is the tenth anniversary year of this event, so you don’t want to miss it!

St. Patrick’s Day Parade

(March 16) If you haven’t experienced the New York City St. Patrick’s Day Parade, what are you waiting for? The parade has been marching down the streets of New York since 1762, and this year’s parade can be viewed along Fifth Avenue between 44th and 79th. You can also catch it live on NBCNewYork.com beginning at 11am.

Architectural Digest Design Show

(March 21-24) Are you a design junkie? Then you’ll experience four days of heaven at the Architectural Digest Design Show happening on Piers 92 & 94. More than 400 brands will showcase their design displays, and design fans can shop the thousands of products that will be offered.

Macy’s Flower Show

(March 24-April 7) Are you sick of snow and gray skies? Then get a huge dose of spring and color at the Macy’s Flower Show. For more than 70 years, the event has delighted visitors with millions of flowers, plants, and trees from around the world. The spectacle is staged at Macy’s Herald Square and is the perfect cure for your end-of-winter blahs.

NYC Craft Distillers Festival

(March 30) Part craft spirit tasting, part immersive speakeasy experience, the NYC Craft Distillers Festival will be a feast for the senses. Sample more than 60 specially selected craft spirits while jiving with a 1920s style jazz band, all happening at The Bowery Hotel. Ticket prices start at $95.

Greek Independence Day Parade

(March 31) Finally, finish off the month at the Greek Independence Day Parade. The parade celebrates the Greek revolution of 1821 and has been marching rain or shine up Fifth Avenue since 1951. It’s a festive afternoon full of traditional costumes, lively music, and lots and lots of Greek flags.
